In addition to our captive management services, we provide our customers with access to a number of segregated cell rent-acaptive facilities located in Bermuda, Cayman, Guernsey and Vermont.
The segregated cell rent-a-captive facility - referred to as the Segregated Account Company in Bermuda, the Segregated Portfolio Company in Cayman, the Protected Cell Company in Guernsey and the Segregated Cell Company in Vermont - is a single legal entity able to support the insurance activities of multiple clients within individual, ring-fenced accounts or cells. As a risk retention vehicle, the cell operates in a similar way to the captive and is generally used to write the risks of the cell owner.
Offering similar benefits to a standard captive, including: potentially reduced insurance spend, enhanced coverage options, stable pricing and greater overall risk control; the primary advantages afforded by cell structures are: the speed of set up, a reduced set-up cost, ease of operation and low maintenance requirements.
Kane provides a full range of feasibility, setup and on-going administration services for three wholly-owned segregated cell company facilities.
Kane also plans to establish a cell company in the US in the near future.
