Cayman Captive Forum 2011
Record number makes forum largest captive event
The 2011 Cayman Captive Forum (Nov 30-Dec 1) has continued its trend of the last several years of continuing to attract a record number of delegates. This year saw a total of 1,250 attendees through the doors, making it the largest captive conference in the world.
Attendees included a large number of captive clients, many of whom take the opportunity of being in Cayman to hold captive Board meetings. The conference also attracts a number of underwriters and brokers from the US and UK, and given the number of clients attending provides a useful opportunity to discuss renewals and to strengthen relationships. Based on comments received from attendees, the Forum continued to provide excellent educational opportunities, while the Cayman setting ensured it remains one of the 'must attend' conferences of the year.
From a Kane perspective, the conference proved to be a great success. We held a client and friends appreciation dinner on one of the evenings, and also co-sponsored an evening reception held at the Camana Bay development that attracted close to 700 delegates.
The 2012 organisational plans will shortly get underway. This year's Forum will again be held at the Ritz Carlton and will take place from November 27-29.
